Scope and access
This website focuses on Avoca and nearby districts, mainly from the mid-19th century onwards.
Most of the Society’s records are not available online.
Visit the Avoca Court House: A Local History Hub
The headquarters of the Society is an historic building at 85 High Street, Avoca, which was the Avoca Court House from 1859 to 1979. It now contains a local history and family history resource centre containing thousands of documents, photographs, maps, microfilm of local newspapers and rate books, and artifacts pertaining to the localities in the Avoca district.

The Society’s premises at the Avoca Courthouse are open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm from February to mid-December.
